REGISTER READY – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry for Disasters allows New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency. LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COUNCIL
The purpose of the Council is to assist the local Emergency Management Coordinator in the preparation of the Municipal Emergency Operations Plan and in other areas as determined by the Coordinator as necessary. The members appointed for the year 2023 are as follows:

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT UPDATE

The Green Township Office of Emergency Management, together with the Township Committee and Local Emergency Management Council, continue to ready Green Township for future emergency/disaster events through planning and preparation, in partnership with our local and county agencies.

Generators have been installed at the Municipal Building and Road Department.  Portable generators and pumps have been purchased for use in emergency/recovery operations.

COOLING/WARMING STATIONS and SHELTERS will open as needed and will be announced through the Emergency Messaging System and Social Media.  Email oem@greentwp.com for more information.

The Green Township Municipal Building located at 150 Kennedy Road, and Green Township Volunteer Fire Department located at 243 Kennedy Road, serve as a COOLING/WARMING LOCATION during widespread, extended power outages.

Green Township Volunteer Fire Department, located at 243 Kennedy Road will serve as a SHELTER LOCATION during a disaster.


Communication  Green Township utilizes the ReGroup system for Emergency Messages and Notificiations.  The system will be used to call, text, and email during times of emergency.  You must register to receive messages, please ensure that you are enrolled in ReGroup here:  https://embeds.regroupcloud.com/orgs/sussexnj/channels/sussex-county/signup_embed

Manpower  Join the Sussex County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and become better prepared to respond to emergency situations right here in your own community.

Members of Sussex County's CERT give critical support to first responders in emergencies, provide immediate assistance to victims, organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site, and collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts.
