You are required to obtain a permit(s) for many improvements you make to your property such as adding an addition or deck, roofing, swimming pools, driveway paving, fences and many other situations.
Please contact the township construction office as your first step to re-modeling. We will assist you with all requirements.
The Planning Board adopts a master plan for the development of the Township and administers
subdivisions and site plans. The Zoning Board interprets the zoning map, and hears applications
for use variances.

The Sussex County Health Department (tel: 973.579.0370) issues all permits and performs inspections for septics and wells. Any new construction or repair of
an existing septic system must be processed through the SCHD.
