The Tax Assessor's Office handles all tax assessments, tax appeals, farmland assessment and senior citizens & veterans deduction applications.

The Planning Board adopts a master plan for the development of the Township and administers subdivisions and site plans. The Zoning Board interprets the zoning map, and hears applications for use variances and bulk variances for additions and accessory structures. The Planning Board meets the second Thursday of the month. The Zoning Board meets the first Thursday of the month.
You are required to obtain a permit(s) for many improvements you make to your property such as adding an addition or deck, roofing, swimming pools, driveway paving, fences and many other situations. Please contact the township construction office as your first step to re-modeling. We will assist you with all requirements.

The Sussex County Health Department (tel: 973.579.0370) issues all permits and performs inspections for septics and wells. Any new construction or repair of
an existing septic system must be processed through the SCHD.
